Peschiera del Garda

The area around Lake Garda is so harmonious, it acts a bit like an embalming package for the soul. Peschiera del Garda is one of many cozy villages on Lake Garda and offers very nice things both inside and outside the village. Spend a few days here and alternate between relaxing to find craziness such as paragliding or cycling a distance of 100 km. You can easily go to many other small towns and villages around by train, making it easy to get away on small excursions.

Amusement parks and cycling

There are many nice cycle paths around Lake Garda. Choose between shorter or longer tours, you can rent your bike for a whole day so you can pedal on at your own pace and stay wherever you please. If you cycle from Peschiera del Garda to Borghetto, which is a medieval village you get to pedal about 52 km, if you are longing for a longer distance you can instead cycle from Peschiera del Garda to the river Po which has a distance of 134 km. During the summer months it becomes a sweaty bike ride, but it is very refreshing with a dip or two in the lake.

There are a lot of amusement parks near the village, which is a great way to spend a morning or afternoon. Gardaland is one of the best amusement parks in all of Italy, it is filled with gut-wrenching carousels and other fun that is entertaining for both children and adults. At Sea Life Aquarium they have tried to recreate the natural habitats of the fishermen and there are over 5000 species in 37 aquariums to look at. Parco Acquatico Cavour is a nice park with a pool with a sandy bottom to mimic a natural lake. There is plenty of room for a cozy picnic.

Truffle hunting and adrenaline kicks

Go on a truffle hunt with a guide and a truffle dog (the dog is the real expert here), after you have chased truffles you will of course eat truffle pasta! In the surroundings there is the possibility of wine tasting as well. Take a boat trip on Lake Garda or hang on the beach between Peschiera del Garda and Sirmione, it is very easy to kill a few hours here not least if you fill up with some ice cream and drinks…

For a little more heart rate-enhancing activity you can go water skiing, try parasailing and paragliding. Perfect way to get some contrast to ferment in the sun and plum in the water! One of the most popular attractions in Peschiera del Garda is Madonna del Frassino, which is a church from 1511, in the church you can see works of art by Paolo Farinati.
