Besides tasting champagne and learning all about this amazing beverage, there is a lot of art to consider and historical places to visit. The Musée des Beaux-Arts has an extensive collection of art from the Renaissance to the present. Villa Demoiselle is a building from the early 1900s where you can admire both art deco and art nouveau, preferably take a guided tour so as not to miss the really nice pieces. Just strolling around the city of Reims you will discover a lot of art deco architecture, so this is really a hidden gem for those who have a love for the style. The cathedral Notre-Dame in Reims from the 13th century is an impressive Gothic-style building and there you can also see a statue of Jeanne d’Arc. For some street art, head to 11 Rue de Commerce.
At L’Artisanie you will find many nice and beautiful things, especially if you want to buy some home with some friends (or yourself). They also have a small outdoor restaurant where you can drink tea, among other things, in very nice tea services. At Culture Vintage you can find really great clothes and for a different, nice and varied shopping range you should go to Center Erlon.
Even though Reims is not a big city, it can still be nice to get out into nature. In the city there are some parks that are worth a visit such as Parc de Champagne which has a botanical garden. Through the town also flows the river Vesle Canal which is very nice to walk by or sit on a park bench and drink champagne coffee, a cup of coffee. Feel free to take an excursion outside the city, there are bicycle tours combined with champagne tasting or a guided tour and learn more about the First World War. Visit old battlefields, trenches used by soldiers, bunkers and hidden communications posts.
Once back in the town of Reims it may be time for some food or if you just feel a little hungry you can sample some local delicacies. The ham is slightly out of the ordinary and is cooked in tasty broth and then covered with crispy breadcrumbs, also taste mustard with champagne vinegar, truffle mayonnaise and of course all the good cheeses. If you are a night owl then there are many options for you, you will find many nice wine bars, cocktail bars, pubs and nightclubs. Place Dronet d’Erton and rue Chazy have many lively and atmospheric nightclubs.
