During this trip you will visit some of the most amazing cities that Italy has to offer. The trip will treat you to some beautiful architecture, good food and exciting history. Sunbathing and swimming will be mixed with shopping and culture as the journey goes from the mountainous areas in the North, to the lush parts of the South.

Destinations

Milan, where many of the world’s most famous and coveted fashion designers work and live. Inside the city, you can walk around the storefronts on Via Monte Napoleone all day or stroll down one of the cozy cafes located along the Piazza del Duomo square. Milan also has a lot of architecture that is worth a visit such as the mighty Cathedral of Duomo or the opera La Scala. Once in Milan, you can also enjoy some world-class soccer, as both Milan and Inter have their home fields here.

Peschiera del Garda. This is the town located on the farthest southside by the beautiful Lake Garda. Here you can take the train and then continue by bus or boat up to the cozy villages that lie around the lake climbing up the mountains. Around Garda there are a lot of activities you can participate in, both Limone sul Garda and Malcesine are perfect starting points for hiking or bicycling. On the southern side of the lake lies Italy’s largest amusement park and around the whole lake there are opportunities for sunbathing and swimming.

La Spezia, at Cinque Terre. Here there are local trains that take you up between the picturesque villages along the coastal strip. The five colorful villages that make up the Cinque Terre Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore, has been included on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1997. La Spezia is also one of Italy’s largest port cities, where you can stroll around on the great harbor promenade and check out the various boats that lay anchors while enjoying the Italian sun. La Spezia is also the perfect place to try Ligurian cuisine, such as the pasta corzetti and pansoti.

Rome, a high-class city that has the most to offer. Here you can visit many historical sites and monuments such as the Coliseum, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. Also, you must not miss an unforgettable visit to the Vatican City where the Pope has his headquarters. Here is also the St. Peter’s Church, which is best known for its magnificent dome. The dome was designed by Michelangelo and pilgrims come from all over the world to catch a glimpse of the spectacular church.

The atmosphere that Rome transmit will charm most people, the cozy squares and Trattorias make this city one of the most romantic ones. And the city will remain in your memory for a long time after you embark from it.

Naples, one of the most densely populated cities in Europe, which is something you will not miss as the people of Naples pulsate in sync with the city’s pace. Here are a lot of sights that must not go undiscovered. Pompeii, the city destroyed by ashes and lava from one of the Vesuvius volcano eruptions in year 79. Here you can see artifacts and ruins preserved from throughout history. Other attractions not to be missed are the underground catacombs, the historic Herculaneum or one of the many museums Naples has to offer. Also, be sure to try the Neapolitan pizza that is said to be the best pizza in the world.

Venice, which is best known for its narrow canals that flow through the city. Over 12 million visitors come here every year to get a taste for the city that is like no other. Here you can visit St. Mark’s Square, which is the largest square in Venice. It is filled with many impressive sights, such as the almost 100 metre high bell tower, Campanile and the fascinating St. Mark’s Church with its astonishing architecture.

Here in Venice everyone gets around by walking or boarding boats riding over the canals since car traffic is not allowed. Therefore, you must not miss a memorable gondola ride with one of the beautifully dressed gondoliers.

Bologna. This is a city that always manages to dazzle. The town, often called the Italian capital of food, has a lot of culinary culture to offer as many top chefs are attracted here, so why not try the classic spaghetti bolognese, which originated here in Bologna. Apart from food, the city is also known for its fine wine. Here you can partake in the wine festival held every year as well as visiting one of the regions several thousand different wine producers and wineries. Certainly worth a visit!

Although many people go here for the excellent shopping, there are also incredible buildings and culture in Bologna’s old districts. The Asinelli Tower, which is leaning slightly, is the city’s most famous tower. Either you can stand below and see the towering stately rise up to the sky, or take the almost 500 steps up the tower to experience the beautiful views.
